Minnesota Professionals for Psychology Applied to Work (MPPAW)

Announcing a new organization for I/O Psychologists! MPPAW will have six scheduled meetings for the upcoming year. Meetings will be held at the University of Minnesota on Thursday evenings and the program will include a social hour, presentation, and question and answer session. The first meeting will be held on September 24th and will feature Frank Schmidt of the University of Iowa who will speak on "New Paradigms for Human Resources." Bay Area Applied Psychologists (BAAP)

Mid-Atlantic Personnel Assessment Consortium (MAPAC)

Metropolitan New York Assoc. For Applied Psychology

Vince Conte of Anderson Consulting will conduct a workshop on the morning of June 2 entitled "A Sampler of the Use of Technology in I/O Psychology Lessons in Experience." METRO will present a panel of METRO's past presidents on the evening of June 18th discussing the topic "Looking Backward, Looking Forward." PSC/Florida

The Personnel Selection Council of Florida's seminar on Veteran's Preference Issues with speakers John Burns and Ron Frankel of the Department of Veteran's Affairs was very successful! Future meetings are in the planning stages. Contact Desiree Bice (954)724-1351 for more information.

PTC/Arizona

PTC - Arizona had a very successful one day workshop on "Almost Everything You Wanted to Know About Selection" presented by Ted Darany and Kristine Smith of Darany & Associates. Their next program is planned for September and will focus on assessment centers. Once details are finalized, information will be posted on IPMAAC Online. PTC/Northern California

PTC/Metropolitan Washington

Chuck MacLane of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management presented "Making Social Biodata Constructs Work" at the May meeting. The topic of the June 10 luncheon meeting will be the revision of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing presented by Wanda Campbell of the Edison Electric Institute. James Sharf of AON Consulting and Dave Copus of Jones, Day, Reavis & Progue will conduct a half-day workshop on "Employment Discrimination Law Revisited" on July 8. PTC/Southern California

The Personnel Testing Council of Southern California's Spring Symposium was held on in May. The theme was "Beyond KSAO's, Practical Approaches to Competency Applications." The next meeting will feature Dennis Joiner of Joiner and Assoc. presenting "A Practical Scoring Model for Assessment Centers" on August 27. Western Region Item Bank

The Western Region Item Bank (WRIB) is a cooperative organization of public agencies using a computerized test item bank. Services include draft test questions with complete item history, preparation of "printer ready" exams, and exam scoring and item analysis. Membership includes 190 agencies nationwide. WRIPAC

The Western Regional Intergovernmental Personnel Assessment Council (WRIPAC) is comprised of assessment professionals from more than sixty small, medium, and large public agencies throughout the western United States. For more information, contact Mark Rau, President, at (209)297-2335.
