Mid-Atlantic Personnel Assessment Consortium (MAPAC)
MAPAC's Winter Workshop and Meeting was well received and very successful! The program spotlighted work simulations and included presentations on simulating brainstorming, standardization, developing rating guides, and training raters. A workshop on "Developing Work Simulations" was presented by Dr. Cathy Cline. The Spring Meeting will be held on May 13-15 in Washington DC. Metropolitan New York Association for Applied Psychology
The January METRO meeting was a success featuring Mirian Graddick of AT&T presenting "Downsizing, Restructuring and Revitalization." Robin Ely of Columbia University School of International Public Affairs will present "A New Paradigm for Managing Diversity" at the February 19 meeting. "The Incredible Shrinking Pool of Top Performing Older Workers" will be presented by Jeffrey Draum of Competency Management Inc. at the March 24 meeting. PSC/Florida

PTC/Northern California
The PTC/NC February 13 meeting will be held in Sacramento, CA and is in the planning stages. Contact Cori Stillson for more information (916)929-7670. "The Changing Climate of Personnel Testing" will be the theme of the 12th Annual Conference which will be held in Concord on March 5-6. Dr. Wayne Cascio will deliver the keynote address entitled "The Legal Status of Banding with Racial Preferences Following the 1997 Chicago Firefighter Case." Some other presentation topics will include Personality Testing, Proposition 209, Test Security, Physical Skills Assessments, Job Analysis, Legal Trends, and the Impact of Changes in Jobs and Organizations on Personnel Testing. PTC/Metropolitan Washington
Metro Washington's January meeting featured Dr. Julia Leaman and Dr. Nick Vasilopoulos of the Office of Human Resources - Immigration and Naturalization Services presenting "Screening for Counterproductivity." PTC/Southern California
The PTC/SC holds a luncheon meeting in Monterey Park, CA on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Western Region Item Bank
The Western Region Item Bank (WRIB) is a cooperative organization of public agencies using a computerized test item bank. Services include draft test questions with complete item history, preparation of "printer ready" exams, and exam scoring and item analysis. Membership includes 190 agencies nationwide.
