Training Committee to Update Training Workshops
Mike Willihnganz
Training/Workshops Committee Chair
The Training/Workshop Committee is getting ready to update and revise the IPMAAC training workshops. IPMAAC offers a variety of training opportunities for the selection practitioner. As the assessment profession continues to evolve, it is important for the workshops to keep pace with the trends, principles, and practices of the field. Additionally, current and relevant training workshops are needed to ensure that selection practitioners can acquire the skills and expertise that will be required to meet future selection challenges as we enter the new millennium.
Examination Planning will be the first workshop to undergo a "facelift." The Examination Planning Workshop addresses the following topics:
- Job Analysis
- Personnel systems and assessment
- Essentials of examination planning
- Identification of appropriate selection instruments
- Documentation of the examination plan
The process of updating the workshop will consist of three major phases:
Phase I: Identification of Necessary Revisions
Phase II: Updating/Editing Workshop Content
Phase III: Formatting, Word Processing, and Production of Materials
The Examination Planning Workshop will be organized and packaged in such a manner that the training modules can be presented as a one-half day, one-day, two-day, or three-day workshop depending upon the depth and breadth of coverage desired. This flexibility will make the workshop applicable to a wide variety audiences and intended uses.
The Training/Workshop Committee is now seeking volunteers for Phase I of the project. Specifically, we are looking for individuals to evaluate existing workshop content and identify revisions or additions to be incorporated into the training materials.
