News from the Executive Council
by Kaye Evleth
The IPMA Executive Council met at the October Training Conference in Las Vegas. The theme of the meeting was a development of cooperation and coordination of activities and interests of the various facets of IPMA. As I have discussed in the past, the organization has often seemed more fragmented than cohesive. Neil Reichenberg's initial actions as Executive Director have been focused on bringing the national level of IPMA to the various Sections, Regions, and Chapters. As a result, we can look forward to seeing, hearing, and interacting more with members of the IPMA family.
Tina Ott, IPMA Director, Governmental Affairs, will be keeping IPMAAC members informed as to the legal and legislative activities in Washington, DC, and nationally; and Marianne Ernesto, IPMA Director, Assessment Services, will be reporting on the research and test development activities going on at IPMA central office. Marianne recently reported that she promotes IPMAAC training and membership in her mailings to all IPMA test users. Neil and Marianne have both stated that they will be looking to IPMAAC to participate in and respond to assessment issues that affect IPMA members.
I thank you for the opportunity to serve IPMAAC as the Executive Council Representative for the past three years. I encourage you all to be active in both IPMAAC and IPMA committees as a way to network, learn, and influence the achievements of both organizations. I now pass the baton to Doris Maye.
