Giving Credit Where Credit is Due
This makes the sixth and final issue of the 1996 ACN and, all in all, I'm rather proud of the work we've done this year. Recognition, thanks, and gratitude go to the large number of people who made everything possible.
Thanks and recognition go to the previous editors who laid the excellent foundation we had to build upon. My appreciation for their efforts has grown with each passing month.

Appreciation and gratitude to Marianne Bays for the freedom and support to make changes. And for her President's Message articles which always arrived ahead of schedule and with no prompting. Thank you!
THANK YOU! to Mike Aamodt, Jeff Feuquay, Ilene Gast, and Mike Willihnganz for their hard work as assistant editors. They provided the foundation around which each issue of the ACN was constructed. This group also includes Clyde Lindley and Chuck Schultz for their excellent contributions to each issue. Best of all, these wonderful people have signed up for another year! (All but Mike W. He is very busy working with David Dye to provide us with an excellent program for '97 conference so his declination is understandable. Deonda Scott has agreed to continue Mike's excellent work.)
A very special thanks goes to all those individuals who voluntarily (and some not so voluntarily) submitted articles for publication this year! (To those "volunteers" who didn't have time submit anything this year, don't worry there is always 1997. . . )
And last, but certainly not least, thank you to Marianne Ernesto and Daglyn Padilla. Definitely couldn't have done it without your assistance, patience, and understanding. Thank you so very much!
Miscellaneous
To those of you have not joined IPMAAC's discussion list, I strongly urge you to do so. There have been several interesting discussions going on that I think you should be participating in (or at least observing). One deals with the issue of professional standards and the other revolves around validation studies, affirmative action and the Department of Justice. To join the discussion list you just need an internet email account. To join, follow the following steps:
- If you have a "signature" file at the bottom of your messages, turn it off during this process.
- In the "To:" field type the following: ipmaac-list@lists1.best.com
(Note: that's a "one" after lists, not an "el")
- Make sure the "From" field contains your e-mail address. (Most e-mail programs take care of this automatically.)
- In the "Message:" area of the e-mail form type: subsingle
- Send the message
- The list server will send you a message with the word "REJECT" in the subject line. Select the "Reply" option of your e-mail message, change the word "REJECT" to "ACCEPT" and send the message.
[Or, if you have access to the World Wide Web: go to the IPMAAC home page (located at http://www.ipmaac.org/) and complete and submit the form provided under IPMAAC-List. An archive of previous message also appears at the web site.]
The discussion of professional standards on the list prompted a discussion at the Board meeting concerning publication of the IPMAAC professional standards. As you read in Marianne's President's Message, we will be republishing this list in a number of places - including the ACN. This issue contains such a reprint.
Guess that's all for now. Hope you have a safe and holiday season and I look forward to hearing from you in 1997!
